Adoption of the Q4C Standards in Malta
Another success for the Quality4Children Standards: The Maltese Ministry for the Family and Social Solidarity has used the Q4C Standards as a basis for their “National Standards for Residential Child Care” which were launched for consultation last February. The Q4C Standards have been developed by members of SOS-Children’s Villages, IFCO and FICE from 26 European countries. The Maltese national team, led by John Rolé (IFCO), actively contributed to the project with 15 stories from children, foster parents and members of the extended family as well as in developing the standards for the care-taking process.
The Ministry launched the standards on February 15 for consultation from stakeholders and people working in the field of out-of-home child care.
