ISO and Q4C Implementation in Italy & further steps

SOS Villaggi dei Bambini in Italy has made a lot of effort to the diffusion of Q4C research and goals in Italy. There were five international conferences between 2007 and 2008:

  • November 2007, International conference in Rome, for the institutional and political sectors,
  • March 2008, International conference in Perugia, for the university and academic sector,
  • June 2008, International conference in Milan, for the third sector and social workers,
  • November 2008, Conference in Trento in cooperation with the SOS Village, with the participation of the institutional and the academic sector,
  • November 2008, Conference in Alessandria in cooperation with two childcare associations.

Moreover, we launched an online petition to collect support for the presentation of an official request to the competent Italian institutions, asking to keep biological siblings together when taken away from their biological family. We reached the number of 1875 signs. They were given to the Italian commission for children and youths, to other Department and to courts involved in child protection.

The SOS Children’s Villages of Rome and Morosolo aimed the certification ISO 9001 for the quality management sytsme with an external auditor (RINA S.p.A.).

In 2009, SOS stated the implementation of Q4C and ISO 9001 into four SOS Children Villages: Saronno, Morosolo, Mantova and Vicenza.
